The Leon County Farm Bureau works to preserve and promote agriculture, and to protect the American family farming way of life.
The Leon County Farm Bureau was founded over 60 years ago and currently has over 2500 members. LCFB is a voluntary, non-governmental, non-profit membership organization of agricultural producers and individuals that promote agriculture and agricultural education. Our members are also dedicated to the support and preservation of agriculture throughout Leon County and Florida.
As a grass-roots organization, farmers are provided a united voice to protect their common interests and to promote agriculture through public relations and educational programs such as Ag in the Classroom. LCFB advocates and supports the economic advancement of agriculture while maintaining a balance with the appropriate management of natural resources.
The Leon County Farm Bureau is affiliated with a nationwide network of Farm Bureaus' organized at the county, state, and national levels.

Our next event will be our celebration of Food Check Out Day. Each February we recognize on "Food Check Out Day", the number of days in the year it takes the average family to work and earn enough money to buy ALL of their food for the entire year. The outstanding value of the production if the American Farmer is again presented to us when we acknowledge the few days of work it takes us to meet this important need. We celebrate this occasion with a luncheon held at the Ronald McDonald House in Leon County. Joining the Leon County Farm Bureau, surrounding county Farm Bureaus' also participate by providing home cooked farm fresh cooking and donations to assist in providing for the food needed by those who stay at the Ronald McDonals throughout the year.
